iSoccer Awards--

On June 1, 2011, BEES Soccer Academy purchased a two-year subscription to iSoccer for every player in the program.  The fee of $12 for each player came from the Night at the Races fundraiser.  Every high-quality premier soccer program should guide the players in their personal technique training programs.  This objective of the program was to provide each player with this new online program.  iSoccer provided 16 Assessments which challenged players to improve skills in ball skills—juggling, passing, receiving, shooting, dribbling and heading.  Scores were accumulated across all age-groups around the country and standards were set for each age-group.   Players could record their scores which were then compared to hundreds of thousands of scores of players their age around the country to establish standards of measurement and goals.  Over 5000 additional exercises were included on the website.  These could be downloaded to iPods and iPads and used by players on the field.  Players can purchase a personal subscription by logging onto the website.

BSA Student-Athlete Award >

In keeping with our philosophy of player development, we would like to demonstrate to players the importance of academic excellence.  It is our belief that while soccer is an activity children choose for fun, competition and to build friendships, it is the efforts in their academic pursuits that will have the greatest impact on their future.  The same commitment and teamwork required on the soccer field will carry over to classroom and the workplace.

We wish to recognize not only success but achievement.  Success is doing the best you can do, while Achievement is having that Success recognized by others.  To compete is to strive for success in every endeavor.

All players who demonstrate outstanding Success and Achievement in the academic arena will be eligible for our BSA Student-Athlete Award.  The Award will be granted after documentation is received by the Director of Coaching and Player Development.  The Award is a wrist-band embossed with BSA Student-Athlete.

For students grades 2-5, one standard will be the equivalent of a B average.  A teacher or parent shall certify compliance with the BSA Student-Athlete standards on the attached form. For players grades 6-8, one standard shall be Merit or Honor Roll status.  A teacher or parent shall certify compliance with the BSA Student-Athlete standards on this FORM.

A “scholar” is a person who enjoys to learn and to challenge themselves to perform on projects, assignments and tests.  Some of these students may not post the above grade markers.  If teachers and/or parents can certify that the student has demonstrated outstanding effort in completing all assignments to the fullest of their ability; and that the students has shown outstanding citizenship in complying with all school and classroom expectations; and that the student has shown positive leadership, then that student will also be deemed worthy of the BSA Scholar-Athlete Award.

A student may receive only one BSA Student-Athlete Award, but may be eligible to win the award for any of the four grading periods of the 2010-2011 academic year.  After the grading period, please send one of the forms below.  Be sure it is completed and signed.
